Lankanet has been working since 1994, as an Information and Communication Technology (ICT) supporter and trainer for Non Governmental Organizations (NGOs) and Community Based Organizations (CBOs) which involves in development activities, human rights, women and child protection, activities for peace, democracy and ethnic harmony and environmental protection, in Sri Lanka . It is a non-profit organization and registered as a company under Companies act of Sri Lanka .

The mission of Lankanet is designed as to be an ICT supporter and trainer for various NGOs and CBOs functioning in Sri Lanka . However Lankanet faces numerous hardships and challenges to translate its mission statement into practice.

Lankanet Project Activities
Year 2004 - 2005

Lankanet conducted a five days Training Program on Computer Hardware and Software Installation for seven (7) young men from two community base organisations from 22nd March 2005 to 26th March 2005. All of them were young men. They were from Matara, and Vavuniya .<Full Story>

Be your memory in our mind for ever....

Tsunami destroyed whatever that stood on its way. But it gave rise to human sympathy that most certainly equal the height of murderous tsunami waves. We at Lankanet could not do much to improve the plight of the coastal dwellers but we thought that we can help them especially the youths of the area by equipping them with IT knowledge

On the way to recovery

On the second anniversary of Tsunami Lankanet handed over three computers to the surviving youths who have followed the training course on computer literacy. <Full Story>
