Daily News of March 21, 2007 reported that several computer software along with their Point of Sales (POS) software were taken into custody from Weligama and Matara super markets on a search warrant issued by the additional magistrate ,Matara.
This is only the tip of the iceberg in stricter enforcement of copy rights law. Since great majority of computer users in Sri Lanka is using pirated copies of popular brands of software many more arrests will follows.
